Predictions from NOAA station Port San Luis, 11 km west of Pismo Beach. NOAA has no station in Pismo Beach itself. Port San Luis is a harbor on the same San Luis Obispo Bay, so low and high tide in Pismo Beach, CA may differ slightly from these times. These are predictions, not live readings. How we use NOAA tide data
NOAA predicts the tide times for Pismo Beach at Port San Luis, a harbor about 11 km to the west on the same San Luis Obispo Bay. Pismo Beach has no NOAA station of its own, and the next nearest one is about 62 km away, so Port San Luis is the only close choice.
High and low tide share the top of the page. The tide pool days come last, after the week’s tide times and the calendar, together with what the City of Pismo Beach says about the Shell Beach pools.

Shell Beach tide pools, Pismo Beach
The two parks the City of Pismo Beach lists with tide pools, Eldwayen Ocean Park and Margo Dodd Park, next to Dinosaur Caves Park, are both in the Shell Beach area:
- Margo Dodd Park, an ocean-bluff park, has beach access to tide pools where Pier Street ends.
- Eldwayen Ocean Park is a 1½-mile park along the ocean with stairs down to a sandy beach and tide pools.
Experience Pismo Beach also names Spyglass Beach, where a trail leads down to a rocky area. The same guide warns that the tide can come back in fast, suggests watching the ocean for ten minutes before going near the water, and asks visitors to leave shells, rocks and animals as they found them.
One set of times for town and Shell Beach
On this tide chart, Pismo Beach, CA, and its Shell Beach bluffs share one set of predictions, made for Port San Luis. The harbor is west of town, so of the two, Shell Beach is the closer to the station. Neither gets a correction of its own from NOAA.
